Well, after a long hi(de)-atus I have returned to the blogging world. Most photographers take a break after Christmas to recharge, revamp, and rest – and I did just that! I enjoyed a much-needed vacation to Walt Disney World with the fam and then took a few days off to hang/learn/play with some photographer friends in New Orleans. (More photos of those adventures to come after I get caught up!) And after finishing the marathon this past Sunday, I am ready to charge forward with a renewed mind and refreshed spirit!
As we move into the new year, I reflect back on 2010: the joys and celebrations as well as the challengies and struggles I faced. There were a lot of great times for me and our family. Memories I will cherish forever, moments I wished could’ve lasted forever. But to be honest, it all happened too fast. Looking forward, I have to ask myself what I would do differently in 2011. In hopes that I would hold myself accountable to them, I have decided to officially blog my resolutions. Just as in running, my mind sets the course that my body follows.
My resolutions for 2010…
I resolve to seek the Lord with all of my heart… to spend time daily in His word. to press on to take hold of that for which Christ took hold of me. to offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. to devote myself to prayer, being watchful and thankful. to set my heart on things above.
I resolve to put my family first. I will not stress over the small stuff and I will learn to let it go.
I resolve to run my own race. I will not seek to compare myself to others and try to measure up.
I resolve to continue growing and learning. Perpetual forward motion.
I resolve to not hurry, live life too fast, rush to the next challenge. Enjoy the moment. Live in the present.
I resolve to be a better friend. I will make the time for my family and friends. I will support and encourage them on their journey along the way as they have so generously done for me.

And speaking of friends…my BFF visited over the break all the way from Japan so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to capture her BEAUTIFUL family! I’m quite impressed with how the little ones braved the cold and wind and I was tickled by how much fun we had! Since Christmas, my kids have been asking on a daily basis when we get to go back to Japan to visit “Baby O” and Aunt Susan! Big kisses to O and E…we love you and miss you so much!

SWS – thanks for being so patient and hanging in there with me…your family session is next!
