Anticipation.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them became to be.  -Psalm 139:  13-16

When I had heard that this couple was expecting after 5 yrs of trying to start their family, I was touched by their request to capture this special time for them.  I can only imagine how eager they must be to meet their precious baby after years of longing for this moment.  A sweet reminder to me of His perfect timing and how all things work together for our good.  I love these two, and I could not be happier for them!

Inspired.

One of the greatest blessings I’ve experienced since becoming a photographer has been meeting such an incredibly talented group of people pursuing their passion.  And I’m not just talking fellow photographers, but folks from all walks of life living their dream.  One of which I’m referring to is the woman behind Jacquelyn Reese.  Vanessa is uber-talented, stylish, driven, funny, generous, and I’m happy to say, a friend of mine.  I love reading her blog, One Haute Kid, for all kinds of nuggets of inspiration, design savvy and DIY tips!  I recently had the privilige of capturing her family at her beautiful home (another fun work-in-progress of hers that I love seeing come to life!).  Meet the women behind Jacquelyn Reese:

Canvas Special

October 10, 2009 – 3:01 pm

Thought I’d let you guys in on a special sale on Gallery wrapped canvases, just in time for Christmas.  For the next two weeks, if you purchase a 16×20 or 16×24 Gallery wrapped canvas at regular price, you will receive a FREE 11×14 or 12×18 STANDARD wrapped canvas.  The Standard wrapped canvases are intended for FRAMING and are 0.75″ thick as opposed to the 1.5″ thickness with the gallery wrapped canvases.  They still wrap around the edge of the picture, but they are not as thick on the sides.  This sized canvas is perfect for an image of all the children together or a single child.

How sweet it is…

to be loved by you.  The words of this James Taylor song echo in my head this morning.  What a privilege it is to have loving, caring beings in our lives.  How wonderful a blessing it is to receive their undying love and affection.  Go ahead and return the favor today, take a few extra moments to snuggle.  Give someone a much-needed hug.  Send a note of encouragement to a special friend.  Today is finite and will soon be over….take the opportunity to share the love.

When mom told  me the story of the baby’s namesake, I had to ask permission to share this amazing story.  This sweet boy, Rusian, was named after his great-grandfather, Jesse Ray Rusian Fountain.  Jessie Ray Rusian had received his namesake after the doctor who delivered him.  The doctor was never married and had no children.  Jesse Ray Fountain was born the third of 5 children who were all delivered by this same doctor.  His parents did not have the full delivery fee and the doctor said, “if you name him after me there will be no charge.”  The doctor was known for being kind and was well loved by the community where he served.  Jessie Ray Rusian Fountain grew up there and maintained a relationship with the man he was named after.  It is interesting to note that Rusian is a Scottish Klan name that means “strong water” and his great-grandfather’s last name was Fountain.

I’m still behind on editing a couple of sessions and in the middle of preparing orders and working on 3-4 side photography related projects…and I wonder where my son gets his ADHD from!  (I need to clarify –  he doesn’t have ADHD, but it is really hard for him to focus for more than 5 min!)  Thankfully, my load will soon be lightened and I expect a productive week next week!  Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend!
