Connections…

I was actually referred to my next client by a friend of mine for the incredible work he did in her kitchen, and we have been really pleased with the exceptional job he is doing in ours.  Kitchen renovations are about as fun as a visit to the dentist and are never without hiccups.  However, Adrian (of Kitchen and Bath Wizards) has been thorough and patient with me (and my OCD tendencies), not to mention the excellent customer service he has provided throughout the process.  It wasn’t til I had met him in person that I realized we are members of the same church, and I recognized his wife from her active participation in the childrens’ minstry.  To my surprise, I was honored when he asked if I would take his family portraits.  I was delighted to meet his wife and children and so excited to bring them to one of my favorite locations.  Their daughter is simply adorable, just like her mommy and their two sons are such caring and protective big brothers to their sister.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time cracking up with this fun, sweet family!

Facebook, anyone?

I hate to admit it, but I’m a big-time FB user (or as my darling hubby would say: addict).  I can’t help myself!  It has been so much fun reconnecting with old friends, keeping in touch with new ones, and I just LOVE seeing photos of everyone’s family.  So I’ve decided to get with the program and give a few web-quality images (artist’s choice) to each family with your order.  It is my thank you to all of my loyal clients!  I know how important it is to show off those pictures of your gorgeous families!
 
Here’s how it will work…in the next few days I will send invitations to become a fan of my page, Karen Beyer Photography, where I will post images of your family and tag you so that they will automatically show up as pictures on your page.  I hope you will enjoy showing off your cuties and that you’ll pass the word onto all your friends.  And for each referral you make, I will give you a free 8×10 towards your next session.   I expect to be bombarded with requests as EVERYONE I know is on FB, so please be patient with me as I add photos from your session.

Lucky me…

I cannot tell you enough how much I adore this family!  I’ve known Mom & Dad for almost 10 yrs now - wow, I can’t believe it has been that long!  I have the utmost respect and admiration for them and how they love, raise, and care for their family.  Dad was truly a mentor (and big-brother!) to me when I first started working, fresh out of college in a corporate environment.  He looked out for me in a group of all-male engineers, he showed me the importance of family (before I had my own), and probably what impressed me the most, he was a lover and follower of Christ.  His lovely bride is equally charming (if not more so!) and is the perfect match for T.

I was esctatic to discover that they wanted to have their session at Rice University, where Mom & Dad had graduated from.  The very same place that they had taken their first son’s and daughter’s 5-yr old portrait and now it was their youngest’s turn.  How awesome is that?!  If you’ve never been on campus or just walked around Rice, I urge you to do so!  The archictecture and grounds are absolutely breathtaking!  (And a great place to run, I might add!)

The best is yet to be…

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing my oldest & dearest friend (and her darling hubby!) for a maternity session a while back.  I am at a loss of words to adequately describe the incredible person she is, my friendship with her, and the journey we’ve shared.  The depth and breadth of our relationship is inexplicable, my love for her indescribable…she has had a significant contribution in my life and has truly helped to shape me into the woman I am today.

You can only imagine how thrilled I was to find out she was expecting their first…especially when I heard that they were making a visit home AND that I got the privilege of taking her maternity photos!  These two are absolutely gorgeous and as you can clearly see, they were meant to be in front of the camera.  I did not have a single bad shot - you would’ve never guessed they were jet-lagged from their trip overseas!

She truly radiates beauty, inside and out.  My good friend is loving, wise, caring, nurturing and generous to all those around her.  I know that she will be a tremendous mother.  I couldn’t think of a luckier baby to have such wonderful parents as these two! 

          

        

“Grow old with me, the best is yet to be…”   I am excited to share many adventures to come in this journey with you.  Looking forward to seeing you soon and meeting baby Ollie!  Much love to you!!
