Little Miss…

Do you recognize this adorable Miss?  She was busy, busy at the park today…she kept me, mom, and MiMi on our toes!  Speaking of which, did I mention that everywhere Miss K walked, she did so on her toes!?!  Tee hee, it was too cute!

Proof positive that they needn’t be looking at the camera to have a great image…

More to come later, S…

So sweet…

This family is simply gorgeous!  We got lucky and caught the sun behind us at just the right time of day.  Can you believe this beautiful momma is expecting soon??     I don’t think you would be able to tell except for her radiant glow (not to mention her beaming smile)!

S – Looking forward to our session with little K and I can’t wait til our maternity session!

Christmas Blessing…

I was so excited to do this newborn session – little A arrived right before Christmas, how exciting!  Reminds me of my own little Christmas blessing…who arrived 5 yrs ago!  Man, time flies by too fast!

For those of you who are expecting, the best time to take pics of newborns are within the first week.  They are still teeny tiny, don’t fuss much, and usually sleep through the entire session (with eating breaks, of course!).  However, this lil guy was not your average newborn…he was over 9 lbs when he was born (wowsers!), was trying to hold his head up (I see an athlete in the making!), and wide-eyed & awake for us the entire time!  But thankfully, we were patient and it totally paid off!  You would’ve never guessed that all these sleeping shots took place in the span of 5-minute snoozes!  😉

It was a joy, C & C, spending time with you guys and your little man…enjoy your sneak peeks!

I still have 4-5 sessions to finish up from the holidays…and with the upcoming half-marathon, kitchen remodel, and 3 sessions in January, I’m running a bit behind.  Thank you for your patience and understanding and I promise I’ll do my best to get back on track!

Happy New Year!

Wow, it’s only the 3rd day of the new year and it’s going by so fast!  I’m savoring the last few moments of my much-needed break as I’m gearing up to start work again.  I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the holidays with your families.  I must admit 2008 was a stellar year.  I had a chance to make lots of new friends, reconnect with some old friends, and take pictures of their beautiful families.  I can’t tell you enough how excited I am to see what 2009 holds.

Given some time during the break to reflect on the past few months, I recognized that as much as I LOVE my job, capturing my friends’ cherished moments, there are a few things that I LOVE even more than photography.  Namely, my family.  Unfortunately things had gotten sooo busy round here that I neglected a few things…sleep, showering, early morning runs, a healthy lifestyle (replaced by a diet of caffeine and sugar and many, many sedentary hours spent behind my computer)…not to mention a cheery, pleasant disposition (mainly due to lack of sleep), but MOST IMPORTANTLY, my loved ones.

So without having to quit my photography all together, I’ve decided it’s necessary to make some changes around here.  Some good, some not-as-good.  But, truly, all for the better.  One being, I have decided to limit the number of sessions I will be doing each month.  Which may mean you will have to plan ahead to book your session.  (I’m currently booking for March 09).  The good news is that this will give me more time to devote to my clients.

One thing I pride myself on is doing the best job I can possibly do.  I hate to disappoint my clients and anything less than an ideal session or an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response causes me to strive harder to acheive it the next time.  And I think I could possibly accomplish it all – balance my family, work and life – if I had a full-time assistant, cook, cleaner, chauffer, nanny, trainer, event scheduler, and cheerleader.  But in the meantime, I’m going to have to settle with scheduling a few less sessions this year.

Wishing you all the best in the new year!
