Busy, Busy Bee…

Whew, I knew this time of year is always busy…but wow, I can hardly keep up!  Good news…5 more sessions to shoot, 9 more sessions to edit!  LOL!  I have to laugh and wonder “…now didn’t I tell myself last year that I wasn’t going to do this again?”  ;)

I’m going to make every effort to get 2-3 more sessions edited before Thanksgiving week…wish me luck!  I’m hoping to enjoy some quality downtime with my family next week.  So up next are the B family, W family, and the R family.  Thanks, everyone, for your patience!

Speaking of busy bees, these two lil ones were just precious!  I loved seeing their smiles, their eyes really light up each time they smile!  Miss H seemed to warm up for me easily this time in front of the camera.  I think 2-3 mos really makes a difference for a 2-going-on-3 yr old.   Note to mom and dads with kids under 3 - Don’t sweat it…it’s hard to get them just right, sitting still, posed and smiling.  And not moving fast.  Not to mention smiling, much less smiling together!  I had the same frustrations with my lil ones…and to be honest, sometimes I still do!  I’ve realized you just have to let them be kids, every good picture is not necessarily a posed one!  Trust me, though…it gets easier!  Thankfully, I’ve been known to get lucky every once in a while….

I couldn’t resist this shot of mom as the sun was setting behind her – isn’t she just gorgeous??  Mrs. H, your gallery will be up tomorrow!  Enjoy!

I’m all yours…

Ok, I was at a total loss for words tonight when trying to come up with a title for my blog post.  After spending 10 hrs straight in front of a computer editing, 3 coffees and 2 Diet Mountain Dews later…my brain is beyond fried.  I went to Jasmine’s blog (my hero!) for some inspiration…and I noticed that she used the phrase “Anytime” quite a bit.  And I thought, ‘Aha!  That’s EXACTLY what I was thinking!”  {Thank you, Jasmine!}  So as to not plagiarize my heroine…in my own words, “I’m all yours…”

That’s the sentiment every time I meet up with these two characters…I can’t get enough of them!  They are so FULL of personality and enthusiasm and SO respectful and well-behaved that I almost have to pinch myself to believe it’s real.  And without a doubt, they could easily be mistaken for the models of any magazine ad in a heartbeat.  They are such naturals in front of the camera and I think they enjoy posing and have as much fun as I do goofing off and exploring.  It’s every photographer’s dream come true!  I can honestly say that I would love to spend the ENTIRE day capturing these two on camera…it would be a blast!  And anytime, Mr & Mrs C, you want your family photographed, “I’m all yours…”

I have to admit, if I had to spend all day behind the computer in my “cave” editing pictures, I would love for it to be of your gorgeous family…I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks!

Remember when…?

It’s hard to believe that this lil gal was a teeny tiny babe just over a year ago – boy, how time flies so fast!  I can still remember this session fresh in my mind.  It was so peaceful & calm, tender, sweet and sentimental.  It was after this session that I took a leap of faith and decided to become a professional photographer…whether I was good at it or not, how could i not do this??   Many sessions later (and still learning!) I can honestly say that I truly LOVE my job, it just doesn’t get any better than this! 

I had the awesome privilege of meeting up with the B Family once again for their family portraits.  I love trying out a new location for the first time…you never know what you’re gonna get.  It really stretches me to think differently, use my imagination and take me out of my comfort zone.  Add a couple of active toddlers to the mix and now I’m really workin’!   :)   Here’s just a few sneak peeks (saving some for your gallery and Christmas card), enjoy!

              

                

 

K – Darren marveled at how much she’s grown, he couldn’t believe it!  I cannot get over how gorgeous the girls are, it must be good genes!

Christmas…What to give? What’s on your wishlist?

Ok, been pondering this thought for a while…trying to come up with the “perfect” gift for someone has always been something that I love to do.  So in an effort to give you some ideas, this is what I came up with:

1. MomAgenda - I can’t live without mine…has monthly/weekly views, party/vacation planning pages, gift records, you name it.
2. Personalized tees – too cute!  Great for gifts for teachers or your little ones or their friends, she even has plates and cool retro lunchboxes. 
3. Kids Digital Camera – VTech Kidizoom Camera lets you add frames and silly noses and hats to your pictures.  What fun!
4. Baby Legs - so great for the winter time or even just for looks!
5. See Jane Work - how busy women stay organized
6. Reuseable Bags - for the environmentally friendly
7. Lego Robot - have you seen these??  I think my darling hubby could spend hours with this…
8. Wii Fit - just might make exercise a little more tolerable!
9. Kindle – the latest techie gadget offered by Amazon.com
10. Wisdom Book - AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING.  enough said.  check it out.

As I was researching ideas…a thought came to mind. Wouldn’t it be nice to not stress about the holidays and just focus on the important stuff? Like spending time with loved ones and remembering the true meaning of Christmas. I remember talking with some friends of mine about a challenge issued last year by Pastor Chris Seay to members of his church, Ecclesia, to stop excessive spending on Christmas gifts and focus their attention onto those less fortunate. And I couldn’t post without a pic…so here’s a few to celebrate the end of the soccer season, my super star athlete and cheerleader!  Love soccer, but I must admit, ‘Yay, no more 7:30am games!’
